Red Rock Quilters
Church of the Red Rocks
Sedona, Arizona
The Red Rock Quilters of Sedona has been a chapter of the Arizona Quilt Guild since 1986, 33 years! Our motto is “Sharing and Caring” and we welcome all levels of quilters and fabric enthusiasts. We come together to share our love of quilting, learn new skills/ideas, and care for our community through various service projects. We currently have about 50 members.
The Red Rock Quilters meet the 2nd Tuesday of each month, from September through May in the Church of the Red Rocks. Generally, our format consists of the introduction of guests, a program (which could be a quilting educational program, technique demonstration, or trunk show), review of old and new chapter business, show and tell, and, of course, refreshments. Our programs alternate between national teachers, local quilters or textile artists, and our own members’ techniques and tips. We serve a potluck meal and socialize during our May and December meetings.
The Red Rock Quilters are a service-oriented group. We support the following organizations in our community with the donation of quilts, pillowcases, clothing protectors and other items:
Additionally, our members support Mondays at the Museum at the Sedona Heritage Museum. Three or more quilters demonstrate handwork and answer questions the visitors may have about Red Rock Quilters and what’s happening in general in the quilting world today.
