Copper Country Quilters
First Christian Church
Globe, Arizona
Copper Country Quilters (CCQ) started as a local neighborhood group. When Arizona Quilters Quilt became a guild in 1986, they joined as one of the original charter chapters. They have continued to be a strong and active chapter in AQG. Today, they have over 30 members, with many being long distance as they live in states such as Oregon, New Mexico and Illinois.
This chapter focuses on two main areas: One – self-improvement in the art of quilting and two – community service. Copper Thimbles has many levels of quilters and it is known for being one of the friendliest chapters around.
We look forward to anyone joining us on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th Monday of the month from 9:30 am to 2:00 pm at Globe’s First Christian Church, 401 S. Broad St Globe 85501. On the second Monday we gather for a business meeting. The third Monday is educational and on the fourth Monday we meet to work on Charity projects. Our chapter is active in spreading the “Love of Quilting”, CCQ has been involved in the Gila County for Fair many years. We have willingly chaired the Homemaking Department plus 90% of our members enter and exhibit quilts.
Our charity efforts include creating comfort quilts for Globe’s nursing homes, the domestic violence safe house and lap quilts for the Dialysis center. CCQ also donates to the Food bank.
Our Chapter is lead by a team consisting of Co-chairs, Secretary, and a Treasurer. Our dues are $10 per year.
