    Stetson Cross in the Evening
    with Dale Allen-Rowse

The Stetson Cross is by far the most popular pattern from the Quilting Cowboy.  It blends traditional design with a fresh approach of both internal and external block sashing. In this class you will learn Dale Allen-Rowse's Half Square Triangle strip piecing technique that allows you to sew them quickly and perfectly. This class also reviews in detail the importance of tone since the three colors used in the body of the work should be light, medium and dark to achieve the proper impact of the design.
This three hour workshop will be one for stitching and having fun with Dale.

    My Journey into Quilting
    by Joyce Hughes

Come join us for a  very open and inspiring talk about Joyce's journey into quilting and how it led into Art Quilts with Thread Painting.  She'll finish with ideas on how to use panels as Art Quilts.

Join the many people who leave excited to try something new with their quilting. Joyce’s  primary subject matter will be work with fabric panels. She'll show many “Before and after” Art Quilts.  Many panels are looked at and passed over. Joyce gives ideas about the often asked question: “What do you do with this?”, it’s so big, the colors are dull, etc., etc.  With a little embellishing and/or thread painting on the fabric, it soon becomes a piece of art.

Learn about panel preparation for a project, the freedom of using thread painting and how layering thread lets you achieve different effects on the quilts. Then, add embellishments of ribbon, markers, paint, crystals, etc., Your panel will be unique and one of a kind

Salvage Your Selvages with Tina Craig

Don't throw away those cute selvage edges! You'll be surprised how many memories these strips of fabric hold. In this technique workshop, Tina will guide you on the ultimate scrap quilt journey. Learn how to piece together selvages to use in your next scrap quilt project. We'll piece a variety of blocks for an easy table runner, or you may use your blocks in other projects. Tina will share how she has used selvage blocks to make needle cases, zippered pouches, journal covers and pillows.  No pattern needed.
